Don’t fear the blank page! Monoprinting and Monotype are simple, liberating and creatively serendipitous processes which enable you to make many exciting one-of-a-kind prints quickly. Best exemplified in the work of Degas, Neale Worley, Elisabeth Peyton and Tracey Emin, Monoprint and Monotype for Beginners will show you how to explore Printmaking with and without a press. 

On this one-day workshop course you’ll be able to try both approaches to really experiment and create many exciting prints to take away.

Course Description

 

On this workshop based course you’ll be working in one of the UK’s best-equipped printmaking workshops which houses facilities for etching, screen print, lithography, relief and large format digital print, letter press and bookbinding as well traditional wet based photography.  This course provides a practical introduction to Monoprint and Monotype printing to quickly get you creating exciting prints of your own to take home with you.

What’s included: all paper and inks will be provided.

What isn’t included: your meals.

This course take place on Monday, 5 June 2023 10.00am-4.00pm in the Print Room, Grand Parade Building.

This course is for over 18s only.

In addition, please note that this course is subject to a minimum number requirement of 6 students and, while we sincerely hope that the course will run as expected, the University of Brighton reserves the right to cancel the programme and/or alter the individual details of the course workshops as necessary. Such a cancellation by the University of Brighton before the first session will result in a full refund.
